Please can you:
a) Move this discussion to the emc-users list (where you will find
very many more people to answer the questions
b) Include a bit of context so we know what problem you are discussing.

Having said that, any step/dir drive can work with LinuxCNC, but they
do need to be set up correctly. There are also sometimes problems with
the drive hardware (low voltage / low current parallel ports are a
common problem)
