While I agree we are probably never going to be a strict roadmap group,
I personally think that setting rough milestones for releases would help
us move things along.
Something like 'In mid Aug, we will be looking at potential feature freeze for
release 2.6'
And it needs to by sent on the maillist not in IRC.
A deadline motivates people.
2.5 was really bad for this, we never had an announced feature freeze for it
consequently it had things added very late.
For my work (PNCconf) this is a real problem cause my updates can only happen
after all the mesa stuff has been added.
PNCconf was very buggy when released ( not all because of that ).
I mean it's easy enough to postpone a release if it's not warranted or not
ready ( by setting a new milestone )
I feel this is very important.
