I've seen two cases locally. In one the wife was being abused and retreated to her folks place. The husband showed up on the door step waving a .45 and ranting and raving. The called the police but felt threated enough to shoot him thru the door. In the second case a women was living alone in a mobile home. It was night and some guys were stealing parts off her car. She shot somewhat randomly and killed at least one of them. The action was taken by the prosecuting attorney in either case. Those were years ago. In todays world you had probably let them invade before you shoot; and then do a good enough job so they don't make it back outside. A persons house is still considered their castle.
