They call this the "castle doctrine". In some others, it is legal to shoot any trespassers after they have been warned to leave. In Missouri, they used to have this insanely convoluted law that it was legal to shoot anyone who was breaking into your home, but if you waited until they got in, then it was NOT legal. They have now changed to this castle doctrine.
