I think Chris means someone to communicate with the submitter and shepherd the submitted patch to *someone else* who'd evaluate it. So a huge breadth of knowledge of linuxcnc internals wouldn't be needed, "merely" good communication skills. Tangentially, i think none of us knows all apects of linuxcnc internals. I know I don't... Some of us know one part or two, some know another.
