I intend to ignore that issue. Any LED I use is for power on or some other status. As such there is not enough light to cause me any concern. If I should use any LED for something other than status indicators, I will re-evaluate my position. Certain applications I could think of are using LED's for communications or scanning or some other lighting application. Those kinds of applications would perhaps necessitate application of standards such as EN 60950 or EN 60825. After all, LEDs and laser diodes are the same thing, right? But until I need something other than status indicators, I have other problems to deal with.
