Hi Ian Look at Table 2 on page 13 (or at least that's where it is on my copy).
The performance criteria for "Non-continuous operation" is relaxed for most tests. Eric's response contains an interpretation of that table. I think that some would agree and some would disagree; but that's what keeps us all employed :-) Chris Maxwell | Design Engineer - Optical Division email [email protected] | dir +1 315 266 5128 | fax +1 315 797 8024 NetTest | 6 Rhoads Drive, Utica, NY 13502 | USA web www.nettest.com | tel +1 315 797 4449 | > -----Original Message----- > From: Gordon,Ian [SMTP:[email protected]] > Sent: Thursday, May 02, 2002 4:41 AM > To: 'IEEE EMC & SAFETY PSTC' > Subject: RE: CE MARKING A SYSTEM > > > Eric Lifsey ([email protected])wrote: > > <Also, EN 61326-1 lets you relax the performance criteria of the EMC > tests > for > <applications that are not critical (e.g. if a random system crash > isn't too > > <objectionable for the particular use: such as a primarily diagnostic > <application that will be constantly monitored by an operator trained > to > <reboot the system). > > > We do indeed use EN61326 for our equipment and I'm aware of some of > the > differences between its requirements and those of generic standards. > However, I was not aware of the above relaxation.
