Kris and Peter,
The control number that you refer to can not at this time be used in lieu of a company identifier (name, file number, trademark). A UL Listed product must be marked to identify the Listee whose name appears in UL's database. The Listee's identification must consist of the company name (or an important portion thereof), trade name, trademark or the Listee's file number. I hope this helps clear this up. Do you have this in writing from UL? Regards, Peter L. Tarver, PE Product Safety Manager Sanmina-SCI Homologation Services San Jose, CA [email protected] From: Carpentier Kristiaan To avoid (the cost of) multiple listing: The UL file number does not have to be placed on the product. There is no reference to the manufacturer required anywhere on the product. UL assigns a control number to your Listing mark. This control number is proprietary with UL and not available to anyone unless. It is for their use only. Of course, some-one who has lots of time may compare this controlnumber between different products and finally makes a link to the UL filenumber of the listee.
