Group,

For the first time ever, in an attempt to economize, I used
a black ink refill kit to refill my HP Deskjet 500 inkjet
cartridge.

Followed directions, a bit messy, no dripping, printer
worked great to run some emergency printouts, BUT...

Overnight all the ink dripped out of the cartridge down
into the printer - while power was on. Result - dead
printer. Took printer all apart, cleaned everything [four
hours], dried, and reassembled. Printer works [nothing got
smoked], BUT...

Somewhere during the hassle with all the black ink, paper
towels, and mess; I threw away the On/Off switch assembly.

Does anyone have an ON/OFF switch assembly from an HP
Deskjet 500 Printer? Consists of panel mount rocker switch
and cable to connector.

So I share my misadventure to save others of the misfortune
of a leaking cartridge. And hopefully, someone has the
assembly I need lying around their lab.
