I have been known to float an oscilloscope chassis at 1.5kV to probe a floating circuit. Quite a wakeup when I would forget and lean on the 'scope chassis and grounded item at the same time. In spite of hundreds of good shocks (mostly under 500 volts) I only got carted off to the hospital one time for a shock. I still consider moderate shocks, to other people, to be humorous.
