Scott - Whether or not the OSM Decisions are like UL PAGs or like anything else, they are often used by customers as a requirement for selling into a market space, even when no national safety mark is requested. I have run into this, and even though the product was otherwise fully compliant with the applicable safety standard, some modifications were necessary to meet customer requirements. OSM Decisions are issued under the auspices of CENELEC, rather than a specific third-party certification body, who are also the issuing body of the EN versions of IEC standards. Correct or not, it has been posited to me that the OSM Decisions are sometimes based on installation code issues. Though I have not been involved with products I knew were intended for sale to governmental bodies, I suspect the OSM Decisions can come into play. Thus, in my view, the OSM Decisions are effectively national deviations to the EN versions of the cited standards. Regards, Peter L.
