Dear Experts,
As per ETSI EN 301 489 - 3 Clause 4.3:
"Short Range Devices" (SRD) transmitters are excluded from conducted &
radiated emission measurements, in the transmit mode of operation, in the
frequencies on which the SRD transmitters are intended to operate.
This seem to be logical & realistic. When I sent an enquiry to FCC
about this, I received the below reply. I hope I have not raised my
question properly to FCC.
I request you the gurus to point me the right clause of FCC that
gives an exemption to "intentional radiator" from the conducted emission
testing for the frequency in which it is operating.
Sincerely
K.Balasubramanian

for Part 15 Sub Part C
AM devices
Question:
1. As per ETSI EN 301 489 - 3 Clause 4.3 "Short Range Devices" (SRD)
transmitters are excluded from conducted & radiated emission
measurements, in the transmit mode of operation, in the frequencies
on which the SRD transmitters are intended to operate.
2. Sections ยงยง 15.217-15.257 of FCC Part 15, provides alternative
limits to the general radiated emission limits for intentional
radiators operating in specified frequency bands.
3. Similar to the radiated emission, is there any alternative limits
to the conducted emissions other than the limits specified in the
section 15.207, for intentional radiators operating in specified
frequency bands? If so which part / section of FCC specifies this?
Answer
There are no alternatives to the conducted emission limits in Section
15.207 for intentional radiators operating under Subpart C of Part
15.
Sincerely
K.Balasubramanian
