                                       RE: New EMC directive

As I read it 89/336 is repealed as from 20 July 2007 by when member
states have to have national legislation in place. This to me means that
products being first time certified after this date need to be compliant
with 2004/108 whilst existing product compliant with 89/336 may continue
to be placed on the market until 20 July 2009.

For the great majority this surely will be a transparent change
necessitating no physical change to their products other than to update
declarations of conformity.

Regards,
Chris

Does this mean that you can use either EMC Directive until 20 July 2009?
