Hi Ian,

I'd also like to stress here Ian, that don't jump to the conclusion that YOUR
test equipment was bad. As a lab assessor, I can tell you even accredited labs
have "issues".

When I calibrate surge generators, I used a Current probe for short circuit
current and a differential voltage probe for voltage.

For goodness sake be careful though, the voltages and currents are lethal!

Sincerely,

Derek Walton

Is there any way l can check the performance and set up of my surge signal
test equipment. I use a Schaffner Best EMC working in Surge signal mode and a
Schaffner CDN 117.

The Schaffner has only just been calibrated but l am not getting the same
results from it, that a local test house obtained while testing one of our
products.

Thanks for your help
