Thanks to everyone for the replies. Specifically, I am talking about the 301 489 series of standards and the 61000-4-3 standard that was published last month. Since 301 489-1 references 61000-4-3 and is non-specific in a particular version and states: "For a non-specific reference, the latest version applies." I am guessing that it means what it says and that the date of publication on the IEC website and the indication that it has replaced version 2.1b, that Edition 3.0 is now the applicable version as of the publication date. My question regards whether or not there is some place that specifies that there is a transition time that may apply that perhaps I am not aware of, perhaps in some guide to applying the standards or an ETR... I can see how it could be a "trick questi! on" if dated or specific versions of the standard were specified by countries or other calling standards. Agains, thanks for any feedback. William
