Our devices are not expected to be installed in a home or small
office or supermarket or similar domestic environment. From our sales team
I understand that initial installations are planned in a hospital. Is
hospital 'domestic environment' or 'industrial environment', I am not
clear.

is intended to be used in the home and so testing and marketing it as a
Class A product seems a reasonable approach.
The Ethernet Switch you linked is a good example - a 24 or 48 port
10/100/1000 Ethernet switch is not designed to be used for connecting
together 2 PCs at home - whereas a small 4 port switch could be reasonably
assumed to be used as such and I would argue that this should be a class B
product.
