You can also find discrete interfaces for Serial & USB, quite cheaply, from hobbyist and amateur robotics sources. Take a look at advertisers in Nuts & Volts magazine at http://www.nutsvolts.com/ Take a look at their archive of articles at http://www.nutsvolts.com/ftpindex.htm See April 2007, June 2006 & June 2005 for a start.
