Bars have video games. I once had to answer an FCC query about our equipment in a bank building which was next door to a bar. The source ulimately came >from the video games. Other than bar’s they may have nothing else in common but if you can get close to the games with an antenna or even shut them off for a bit it could be a quick easy check.

What is your IF setting on your SA? It should be on your widest setting not narrow band. 2. Is there any military around, possible running troppo? 3. Squelches are designed not to respond to pulses so I am not surprised the squelch must be turned off. 4. Is the ham receiver FM? A SSB receiver (rare at UHF) would probably give you a better idea what is going on rather than something that is designed to ignore AM. 5. Have you tried putting a directional antenna on the Ham receiver and finding the direction of arrival? 6. Finally get an IFM receiver. They are designed to capture a single pulse. 7. Any new cars parked around? Several new cars, including Corvettes use 900 MHz bursts in the security systems. A SA shows little interference, but a Radio ham receiver tined to 916 MHz can pack up a strong click every second or so. The click is very loud, BUT, it does not lift the receiver squelch implying its very fast. We don't think this is local, since that signal can be received over several square miles.
