While these standards are consistent in the required rating information, not
all have 'format' information. And where format information is provided, it is
not clear if it is normative or informative. In any case, unless the std
specifically says 'informative', I adhere to the example formats.

In general, the rating formats that I apply to labels are formatted to comply
with the agency that has issued a certificate for their mark. Most safety
agencies that I work with provide docs specifying marking requirements and
formats.

And finally, there is IEC/EN 61293 "Marking of electrical equipment with
ratings related to electrical supply – Safety requirements", which seems to be
the source of most safety standards' marking requirements.

Brian

Subject: Rated supply voltage & nature of supply symbol

These are required in supply ratings of many safety standards. Is there any
required format, i.e., rated supply voltage + nature of supply symbol, nature
of supply symbol + rated supply voltage?

Thanks,

Scott
