We talked to the PSU manufacturer and they say that the 60601-1 is more severe than 60950-1 for PSU, so that's why they only do CB test and cert according to 60601-1. Maybe only 80% truth? :-)

This will be a function of the certification engineer assigned to your project. You can help this out by filling out a 60950-1 CB report using the data from the 60601-1 CB report. This will tell you EXACTLY where the differences are. And, it will give you negotiating power to avoid a complete re-test (that a lazy cert engineer will impose upon you). Of course, end-product tests such as the temperature tests will need to be carried out in your end-product as they will surely be different than in the medical equipment. If you are buying the PSU from another party, I would recommend that you ask the PSU manufacturer to seek out complementary certification to 60950-1.
