The FCC will want you to keep documentation for 10 years after a product goes out of production. I suspect you are stuck with a document retention problem for a while.

But I cannot find any IECEE or directive guidance or national laws that would indicate when docs must be retained by a company that has acquired another company that had previously been acquired by another company. I would really really really like to dump all docs that pertain to products that were made with a previous company name and that are no longer made under the current company name.
