Ok, Mr. Woodgate, so no good for the Old Country. But why BS1363-2 for LPS/signal connectors?

That is the point of Scott's original question. BS 1363-2 can be applied to the mains sockets etc. but IEC/EN/BS EN should be applied to USB and Ethernet or any other IT-related parts of the product.

"The socket-outlets are suitable for the connection of portable appliances, sound vision equipment, luminaires, etc. in a.c. circuits only, operating at voltages not exceeding 250 V r.m.s. at 50 Hz using plugs in accordance with BS 1363-1:1995"

Is this standard scoped for AC mains stuff only?

Yes.

Or are any sockets/receptacles within the same enclosure scoped for AC mains buiding code?

I don't think I understand the question. The product in question is a portable extension board, with a mains plug, a cable and a moulded enclosure forming 4 or more 13 A sockets, with additional USB, Ethernet or other IT connectors. It isn't addressed in our 'building code' BS 7671, except, along with everything else not actually fixed to the building, in general terms.

Also, is there an IEC/EN standard with same tests as BS5733? (You Brits do remember that 'EU thing'?).

No, because although the 13 A plug/socket is not actually unique to Britain, it isn't used widely enough to qualify for an IEC standard. There may be EN or European national standards for 'travel adapters' based on the 6 A 2-contact 'Europlug' connector and/or the 16 A 3-contact 'Schuko' connector.
