Ok, Mr. Woodgate, so no good for the Old Country. But why BS1363-2 for LPS/signal connectors?
"The socket-outlets are suitable for the connection of portable appliances, sound vision equipment, luminaires, etc. in a.c. circuits only, operating at voltages not exceeding 250 V r.m.s. at 50 Hz using plugs in accordance with BS 1363-1:1995" Is this standard scoped for AC mains stuff only? Or are any sockets/receptacles within the same enclosure scoped for AC mains buiding code? Also, is there an IEC/EN standard with same tests as BS5733? (You Brits do remember that 'EU thing'?). What is appropriate standard for this type of product? The following standards have been considered:- BS 1363-2 As the multiple socket-outlets contain electronic circuitry, it is outside this standard. EN/BS 60950-1 It fits the USB power sockets whereas the 13A multiple socket-outlets are more suitable for BS 1363-2. BS 5733 As above, the product has specific standards. It may not fully applicable for this one. If a product falls into more than one standards, should it apply to them all or the most worst one. Your guidance is appreciated.
