Lauren, I would say this is an internal designation, specific to your client. Not an uncommon thing. It may be they have a design manual intended for their suppliers to use and explains all these acronyms.

Hello experts, I am dealing with a client specification where they indicate which types crimp on terminal lugs they can and cannot accept in their product. It is a Korean company and they are using the following designations (the description is from an accompanying illustration) R-Type – all metal, essentially oval tab with through hole CB-Type – all metal, square tab with through hole PG-Type – tear-drop tab, with through hole, insulation for wire conductor crimp and wire insulation crimp (i.e., stepped insulation collar with two different diameters). RVB-Type – U-shaped tab, insulation for wire conductor crimp and wire insulation crimp (i.e., stepped insulation collar with two different diameters) VFY-Type – U-shaped tab, insulation for wire conductor crimp only (i.e., single diameter insulation collar). Y-Type – U-shaped tab, no insulation. Does anyone know where these type-designators come from and what they mean?
