This is not a two year warranty. If the customer buys an item it may last six months say and it may be expected to last six months due to its form fit and normal expectation (article 2.2) and this is fine. The 2 year time limit is to allow the user to become aware that the item has not lasted as long as normally expected not for the item to last that long. That is a strange concept I know.
Also see Article 5 in its entirety over time limits. Cl 3 is important and the way this is worded helps to add clarity to the 2 year time limit (the "unless this presumption is incompatible with the nature of the goods" bit) Is your head spinning now?
