Practically speaking the end result can be the same, whether you use VNC, X session redirect or NML redirect, a person can operate the machine through a GUI on both the server and the client. I think the advantage with the NML redirect is that you can divide the load and optimize each computing resource. I have always wanted a Linux cluster and this is my excuse to expand my power.
