My username on the emc box is gene, so on this machine from a shell: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:ssh -X -l gene shop (give it passwd, shell prompt changes to indicate [EMAIL PROTECTED]) My default gui is axis out there, so [EMAIL PROTECTED]:emc (choose config) It runs just fine & actually smoother here cuz that keyboard out there is full of swarf. :) >AXIS assumes that it can create HAL pins and access (read) the var file >from the filesystem. This may be causing problems. It doesn't appear to for me Jeff, the only thing being exported to this machine if I understand things correctly is the xsession. Keyboard, mouse, all work from here and I can carve all the imaginary video air I want while sitting nice & cozy in here. Of course the stepper motor power is not enabled out there since I can't see the machine. How are you trying to do the remote, Kirk? >Look on the terminal for any errors AXIS prints. > >Jeff > >------------------------------------------------------------------------- >SF.Net email is sponsored by: >Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace. >It's the best place to buy or sell services for >just about anything Open Source. >http://sourceforge.net/services/buy/index.php >_______________________________________________ >Emc-users mailing list >Emc-users@lists.sourceforge.net >https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users -- Cheers, Gene "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
