I am thinking about that. It is part of a voltage divider with 15 Volts
at the top and a feedback signal on the bottom. See bottom middle
"Welding Current":

A digital pot would allow me to use the feedback as it is used now, but
won't have nearly the resolution I need. I could use an ADC on the
feedback, make a Hobart HAL component and output to a DAC. One problem
is that this machine may not be worth the effort.
