Please, if you think someone is answering your questions in an
unfavorable manner, it might be best to gently indicate that at the
time, don't let your frustration build. E-mail is not the best form of
communication, so, I feel, we all should try to compensate for this by
being as complete we can in our questions and answers (,visual aids are
beneficial). I admit though, sometimes I don't have the patience or
energy to ask a question properly, but then I'll take the stance that
I'll be glad for whatever response I get. For now, in the Linux arena,
there is no getting away from having to solve uninspiring problems and
sometimes chase a red herring or two. Personally, I'm not sure I am
happy about Linux distributions (or the world in general) trying to
become more "convenient". On the other hand, I do think that EMC2 could
be helped by having a prominent vendor provide turnkey systems (recently
maybe Tormach?), but so far this isn't a reality. For those who "just
want to make chips" using EMC2, it may be that commissioning a machine
is the current solution.
