Please, if you think someone is answering your questions in an unfavorable manner, it might be best to gently indicate that at the time, don't let your frustration build. E-mail is not the best form of communication, so, I feel, we all should try to compensate for this by being as complete we can in our questions and answers (,visual aids are beneficial). I admit though, sometimes I don't have the patience or energy to ask a question properly, but then I'll take the stance that I'll be glad for whatever response I get. For now, in the Linux arena, there is no getting away from having to solve uninspiring problems and sometimes chase a red herring or two. Personally, I'm not sure I am happy about Linux distributions (or the world in general) trying to become more "convenient". On the other hand, I do think that EMC2 could be helped by having a prominent vendor provide turnkey systems (recently maybe Tormach?), but so far this isn't a reality. For those who "just want to make chips" using EMC2, it may be that commissioning a machine is the current solution. -- Kirk Wallace (California, USA http://www.wallacecompany.com/machine_shop/ Hardinge HNC/EMC CNC lathe, Bridgeport mill conversion, doing XY now, Zubal lathe conversion pending Craftsman AA 109 restoration Shizuoka ST-N/EMC CNC) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Emc-users mailing list Emc-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users
