You are sending through gmail, which does not echo your postings for some
unfathomable reason. However, you can probably configure your email agent to
save a copy which I have done to kmail because I do have some lists I get
through gmail. It is totally not a problem if setup on your end correctly.

Re-subscribe through your own ISP's mail server then. gmail doesn't echo you
own postings. For reasons known only to gmail.

And at one point you were asked to inspect that file, using mc in the hex view
mode. I don't recall seeing any response, its as if you never got that
message. We did... Or did you pass that by because you have no concept of
what that display mode means?

And there has been only one new post appended to the pastebin.ca site, a post
of a hal file that is 98% commented out. I certainly would not expect it to
accomplish any real work, but then I'm not a hal expert so I'll leave that to
those who are.

If he sent you those files by email, and you received them via the windows
version of thunderbird-2.0.18 which your emails headers say you are running,
I have NDI what character translations the winderz version of t-bird might
do, and neither do we until we see that actual file. It is not I believe,
too big for the list, so attach it inline to one of your posts, but please
use a linux email agent to do so. Those of us running linux as our daily os
have no such problems. Its a great os, you ought to try it sometime.

And we haven't seen that file either. Give us the exact path to that file and
we'll be happy to look at our copies from our own 2.2.8 installs, which FWIW
appear work well here on a simpler stepper driven machine. But we would be
quicker to a solution if we could see your 'broken' one.

Methinks you are happier when ranting. That is not a pleasant life IMO.
