It looks quite promising.  Without an encoder, it has to be a six-step 
drive scheme, so it should work fine with my drives.
One possibility is to get them without their Hall encoder, and put on a 
Renco 6-channel encoder (commutation PLUS ABZ).
The Renco encoder may cost more than the motor, but it still might make 
a decent package.
