I used the 990H on the original Smithy 1240 but that was long ago.  The
first EMC setup was a relative of the BDI but I also set up EMC2 and
don't remember having any serious issues.  If you need I could try to
find the timings from the service guy at Smithy.  I think they still run
one of these for production.  

I seem to remember trying to use a single ended encoder signal but had
to switch to differential encoders.  The details are not real clear
because that was a long time ago.  

The nature of Rutex distribution and service in the USA has changed a
lot since they sold these drives.
