Hi I am using CD with EMC2 that i got in 2008 from CNC workshop. I am not a developer and i did not add any line of code. After i download mentioned above CD with EMC2 2.2.5 i only adjust PID for motors and length for limit switches. That was it. Everything that i have on my machine is also on the www.linuxcnc.org I am using standard MESA 5i20, 7i33 and 7i37 boards. It is all in documentations.
This is manual http://www.linuxcnc.org/docs/EMC2_Integrator_Manual.pdf page 152 about how i found which pin go to which switch on machine. I do not have any special wiring that not described in documentation about Mesa 5i20 ........ boards. I think i did not understand what do you asking "Andy was right - we cannot guess which pin has which function without > knowing which firmware is loaded into the 5i20. And that is buried in a > config file." What part from "firmware is loaded into the 5i20" do you want to i copy past to you? If it is burned into CD--- EMC2 2.2.5 ,than many people on this mailing list know more about that ( what is burned into CD) than i do. I can send to you a copy of CD with EMC2 2.2.5 that i am using. aram > Aram - > > I dont know which version of the Integrators manual you have; the Wiki > link to http://www.linuxcnc.org/docs/EMC2_Integrator_Manual.pdf has the > parport pin connections on page 88. > > Andy was right - we cannot guess which pin has which function without > knowing which firmware is loaded into the 5i20.
