Gene, The gasket does actually go on the top of the hold down, and the strip does settle into the gasket as the vacuum is pulled. I think Ian misinterpreted what I was trying to say about the half thou. I was trying to say that if the hold down was a half thou high or half thou low to my reference measurement, I wasn't going to worry to much about it and figgered it'd be close enough.
