I guess Jon gets a gold star for today (maybe for the week). I just tried the Pluto/SIIG card on a KM400 motherboard booted from an 8.04/EMC2 2.3 LiveCD. It failed just like the other KM400 boards, but does work on my Intel motherboard. Then I booted a 10.04/EMC2 2.4 LiveCD on the KM400 board, and the Pluto/SIIG worked without any fuss. On the first attempt, I tried to anticipate a problem by removing all of the parallel port modules, but got a "missing symbols" error with "loadrt pluto_servo ...". I then rebooted and didn't try to "fix" anything, and it just worked. The real proof will be when I try this on the actual mill PC, but it looks like 10.04/EMC2 2.4/Pluto/SIIG should work. Thanks Jon (and of course Chris for fixing the s/w). I suppose Peter is correct too, because the fix seems to be the newer driver.
