I suspect that Your machine has more than 1 joint. Is there a problem
to get others moving?
If that sample config is working, then all You need is specify scale
and other parameters for each joint in INI file and link
inputs/outputs for homing switches etc in HAL file.

I guess that we have different  understanding for "fun", but I somehow
prefer writing all the configs by hand instead of using stepconf or
pncconf.
