Just pointing out the possibilities. As a matter of fact, I do have a Pico card (Jon sez mine is ancient). I don't remember it costing less (!) than the motherboards we're talking about but I bought it for the other goodnesses you mention back when no motherboard gave particularly good latency numbers. It still seems a good idea. There remains the minor problem of finding boards with copacetic GPUs. I can build a Xterminal once and forget it.
