Dangnabit, I missed that bit. My guess is that it could just be
symptomatic of the noise being related to velocity fluctuation.
It doesn't reveal the cause, AFAICT.
Is it perhaps due to backlash having increased with wear, and the
encoder is on the ballscrew, not the motor?
