Good Day, All I believe on the early permanent magnets used in steam trains and car magneto the magnets would lose some of theremagnetism when dismantled . As we always had to remagnetise the magneto when fully assembled after dismantling them .It now appears that the new magnetic material used in motors, can be dismantled and repaired with out remagnetising.
