I wouldn't put a control PC into the DMZ outside the firewall of a router without a lot of forethought. That would just be asking for problems. But behind the firewall I am ok with having a secured wireless AP. But then I live in the sticks. Probably not quite as far off the road as Gene, but definitely rural. I can sometimes detect one other Wireless AP in the area, but it has to be an ideal day.
