Here, its a default install and I've not twiddled it, the font path in the
prefs is /usr/share/qcad/fonts, and contains these fonts at that link:

gene@coyote:~/bin$ ls /usr/share/qcad/fonts
courier.cxf gothgbt.cxf greekc.cxf greekp.cxf iso8859-11.cxf
italict.cxf normal.cxf normallatin2.cxf romand.cxf
romans.cxf scripts.cxf symbol.cxf unicode.cxf
cursive.cxf gothgrt.cxf greekcs.cxf greeks.cxf italicc.cxf
kochigothic.cxf normallatin1.cxf romanc.cxf romanp.cxf
romant.cxf standard.cxf symbol_misc1.cxf
cyrillic_ii.cxf gothitt.cxf greek_ol.cxf hershey.readme italiccs.cxf
kochimincho.cxf normallatin1.readme romancs.cxf romans2.cxf
scriptc.cxf symbol_astro.cxf symbol_misc2.cxf

QCad is a 2.0.5 freeware version.

Do you have a sample file I can load to see if it works right? I loaded a
.dxf and got the text rendered in German, but it wasn't even a Qcad file,
gCad3d IIRC.

What can I do to help troubleshoot?
