If you have network cabling to that machine (and frankly not having it cripples things like this), and if your local network is both isolated from the internet by a smart router and is using host files to define your local net,then you can do "ssh -Y machine-name", answer the password requester presented to log into that machine, and run it from that terminal. When it fails you will have the error msg on screen and can do a mouse copy/paste directly into your email client so you can show us exactly what it said.
