True, and it is used, but probably the only reference to its effect is in
the man 9 pid. From that doc:
====================
 pid.N.maxoutput float in
              Output limit. The absolute value of the output will not
be permitted to exceed maxoutput, unless maxoutput is zero.
              When the output is limited, the error integrator will hold
instead of integrating, to prevent windup and overshoot.
====================
All I know about potential side effects of raising that value is the
joint following error went away. That would seem to be a desirable
feature. I had already raised the max_vel and max_accel such that the
stepgen should have had plenty of headroom. Windup was only a problem
years ago, and I don't believe I have ever seen or heard an overshoot
correction.

One thing I noted today is that it is not possible to bring a tool to
bear on the table, its crushing the swarf shielding bracketry on the
post while a 1/4" carbide bit with an inch+ of stickout, is still an
inch and a quarter above the table. So for close work, the quill will
need to be brought down at least 1.5" & locked. Thats a big minus
IMNSHO.

Also, I do not have Y forward as the propaganda claims and the only way
to get about 1/4" of it back would be to hog out the front edge of the
base casting as the Y nut holder is now hitting the front edge of its
traval slot in the base. At the rear of travel, again it is crushing
the swarf shielding brackets, so the real Y motion, claimed at 6.875" in
the propaganda, is only about 5.5". X is good, about 19" available so
no losses there from putting the ball screw kit in it.

Cheers, Gene Heskett
