Well, progress report, sort of.

That pdf doesn't have the clearest annotation in quite a few places.

And, when I go to hook up another of the ports (besides the relay, that
is working great) to turn on another transistor which will in turn drive
a 24 volt coiled ICE CUBE to be used to switch a small vacuum cleaner on
to collect the dust from the cuttings, nothing happens! None of the
rest of the ports on this card seem to be responding to a toggling of
hm2_5i25.022.gpio, and I can see it being toggled on a halmeter.

So, my next question is: Does the rest of this BoB's I/O depend on
having the 3 screw connectors on the rear of the card, labeled from left
to right with the db25 and usb connectors facing down, so the back row
is then at the top, with the first 2 connectors labeled as PC5V and the
third one labeled PCGND, need to have power separately applied in
addition to having the usb cable plugged in?

I can muck up a ground from the supply I made, but the two regulated
sources are 12 & 24 volts, no 5 volts other than what it steals from a
USB port cable.

If thats the case, I will need to add yet another of those buck
regulators to the box, and figure out where to put it, in order to
supply that 5 volts. I am also sorry I ever bought the %$#@* thing.
