Hi Gene,

Those 3 pins you mentioned are +5v outputs I believe(Or at least that's
what i use them for). To use the signal output row (the connector row
opposite the db25) i only need to connect the usb plug to my computer. To
get the inputs working i had to connect a +12v source to the 12-24 input.

Note that the ground planes are isolated from each other. So the input row
grounds from the +12-24 connectors (by the relay) and the output row uses
the ground from the three screw terminal connectors...or at least on my
version.

Hope I made some sense, otherwise I can probobly take some pictures of how
it looks on my setup.
