I've lost track of the thread where we were discussing bleeder R's for
big power supplies.

In any event, when it all started, I ordered a pair of 250 ohm 200 watt
resistors from someplace in China, very early in that thread. It's been
so long that when I got a long parcel out of the mailbox, I couldn't
imagine what it was as its been at least 6 or 7 weeks back. I had plans
when I ordered them, of switching them across the supply when the power
relay opened. That would be a 125 watt heat pulse, but would drain the
supply a lot faster than all the 5k's on it now. I could turn them on
with a hexfet in the low side, but I'd need to maintain the gate long
enough to drain the big caps, something I've not worked out yet. Food
for thought when I am bored .

Or perhaps put a brass footrail under the computer's position, put them
under it, along with a std switch to turn them on for a foot warmer?
That would be nice in this <10F weather. :)

My charge-pump-detector I have made 4 of, but I had to figure out that I
had to dunk all that scotch tape binding up those 10 ea 2SK3264's in
some dirty water to keep the static down as I blew one of them before it
was inserted in the board. Dumbassed vendor needs a 10 minute lesson
(delivered using a 2 foot oak 2x2) in the care and feeding of
hex/mosfets, no static foam or wire wrapped around the legs to keep from
blowing the gates. I know, you can't fix stupid.
