It would require a remaking of the box covering the spindle motor and its driver electronics thats hanging on the back of the bed behind the headstock. It hits the box, and needs another 3/4" inch of room to clear it. Or, my finding a 6" faceplate. This is all complicated by the two holddown bolts in it now, being so close together that they would be hitting the face of the flange on the spindle. If this last glue job fails, I will machine an insert into the front of the spindle, and another in the rear to serve as a bolt alignment and turn it small end toward the spindle and stretch the heck out of a rod with 10mm threads on both ends so it will grab it at the center of the qc's bolt hole. The qc's bolt hole does not go all the way thru, although if I am carefull, the bigger mill can fix that, then turn it over and let that 8mm hole be the pilot hole for a 10mm bit down to the threads I already cut. But that all depends on the success of the milling operation I posted the example code for, asking for help in linearizing the D.O.C. as it proceeds. Thanks Andy.
