If you rectify 400V three-phase then you will get 565 V. 400V is the RMS voltage. A rectifier charges the capacitor to the peak voltage, which is sqrt(2) higher. Similarly 230V single phase rectified into a capacitor gives a DC supply of 325V. With overhead for braking and transients, this is the design voltage for the 8i20 and STMBL. -- atp "A motorcycle is a bicycle with a pandemonium attachment and is designed for the especial use of mechanical geniuses, daredevils and lunatics." — George Fitch, Atlanta Constitution Newspaper, 1912 _______________________________________________ Emc-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users
