I totally agree but lately it seems cheap laptops don't come with Ethernet.  I 
want something that I can install LinuxCNC on and connect to my spare 7i92H and 
a BoB just to play around without having to run into the lab and use the Pi4 
version.  It requires HDMI screen, keyboard and mouse.  I had installed 
LinuxCNC onto an older laptop (32 bit) but it turned out to have too many 
incompatibilities with the newer versions of Linux etc.

Anyway, at the moment I'm having big issues with one of the parts of the Probe 
screen

Ultimately a python call to self.gcode(s) with a series of commands that works 
with the MDI but not with the function call.  

And the one Ethernet port on the machine is connected to the MESA board.  I 
don't have reliable WiFi so a USB to Ethernet would be one way to get into it.  
Although working with the probe I'd rather be right there with my hand on the 
ESTOP.
