Have a Yaskawa permanent magnet motor and it have square pulses on all three differential outputs instead of quadrature outputs on two differential outputs and index pulse on third differential output. Not sure why but in the link they mention something about a phase shift to determine quadrant. It might be some extra logic in hardware more or less in practice is needed to decode these signals but if the Mesa cards have FPGA it might be possible.
